2.20.010 Powers and duties.
In addition to the duties set forth in the Estero Municipal Improvement District Act for the office of secretary of the district, the following additional duties are prescribed by the board for the office of secretary:
A. Attend all meetings of the board, unless excused by the board;
B. Be responsible for the recording and maintaining of a full and true record of all the proceedings of the board in books that shall bear appropriate titles and be devoted to such purpose;
C. Maintain separate files, in which shall be retained respectively all ordinances and resolutions, with the certificate of the secretary annexed to each thereof stating the same to be the original or correct copy, and, as to an ordinance requiring publication, proof that the same has been published or posted in accordance with law;
E. Keep all aforementioned books and files properly indexed and open to public inspection when not in actual use;
F. Be the custodian of the seal of the district;
G. Administer oaths or affirmations, take affidavits and depositions pertaining to the affairs and business of the district and certify copies of official records;
H. Have charge of all district elections;
I. Attest all ordinances and resolutions of the district;
J. Countersign all contracts on behalf of the district; and
K. Perform other duties as prescribed by the board. (Ord. 51 § 6, 1971)
2.20.020 Appointment –Term- Compensation.
The secretary shall be appointed by the board. The secretary shall serve at the pleasure of the board, and shall receive such compensation as may be fixed by the board. (Ord. 83 § 1, 1979: Ord. 51 § 7, 1971)
2.20.030 Assistant secretary.
The office of assistant secretary of the district is created. The duties of the assistant secretary shall be as prescribed by the secretary from time to time. The assistant secretary shall be appointed by the secretary subject to the approval of the board. He shall serve at the pleasure of the secretary and receive such compensation as may be fixed by the board. (Ord. 51 § 8, 1971)
