2.16.010 References to district engineer.

Wherever in the rules, regulations, resolutions and ordinances of this district reference is made to its “district engineer,” such reference shall be to the “director of public works” of the district; provided, however, that if the incumbent of said office is not a registered civil engineer, the supervision of construction of district projects, the preparation and/or submission of designs, plans and specifications and engineering reports, and the economics of, the use and design of materials of construction and the determination of their physical qualities shall be accomplished by a deputy director of public works who shall be a registered civil engineer. 2.16.020 Duties—Delegation to registered civil engineer.

If the incumbent director of public works is not a registered civil engineer, all such duties excepted by Section 2.16.010 which by any rules, regulations, resolutions or ordinances of the district are specified to be performed by him shall be performed by a deputy who shall be a registered civil engineer. (Ord. 30 § 2, 1967)

2.16.030 Duties—Delegation to consulting civil engineer.

At the discretion of the board, if in its opinion such designation is advisable, the excepted duties may be performed by consulting civil engineer designated by it for such purpose or purposes from time to time. (Ord. 30 § 3, 1967)

2.16.040 Appointment.

The general manager of the district shall appoint a director of public works who shall serve at the pleasure of the general manager and at his direction. (Ord. 69 § 1, 1976)
