WRECKING AND SALVAGE OPERATIONS

5.64.030 Penalty for violation of chapter.
5.64.010 Permit required.
Any person in order to lawfully operate any auto wrecking, scrap metal, junk or salvage yard or any use or business primarily or continuously involved in the collection, processing or sale of scrap metal or any other used or secondhand material of any type, shall obtain a use permit from the city in accordance with the procedure established by Sections 16.82.010 —16.82.040. (Prior code § 18.26).
5.64.020 Regulations.
Any portion of the types of operations described in Section 5.64.010 when conducted outside a building, must be enclosed by a solid fence at least seven feet in height, of uniform color and texture.
Permanent or temporary storage of materials is permitted below such fence height only.
No burning of materials will be permitted in relation to the above uses.
The use or uses must meet all health and building codes that apply within the city. (Prior code § 18.27).
5.64.030 Penalty for violation of chapter.
Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars or by imprisonment in the county jail not exceeding ninety days or by both such fine and imprisonment, and every day upon which a violation continues shall be deemed a separate offense and punishable as such.
