9.08.010 Prohibited—Exceptions.
It is unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to use any water from the Patterson city water company’s system, for sprinkling streets, irrigating, watering or sprinkling lawns, gardens, crops or trees, or for any other purpose, except such amounts as are absolutely necessary for ordinary household, business and manufacturing uses, at any place within the corporate limits of the city at any time after an alarm of fire has been sounded, until said fire has been declared to be extinguished by the chief of the fire department, at which time notice that the fire is out shall be given by the chief of police* by two taps on the city fire bell. 9.08.020 Duty to turn off water.
It shall be the duty of all owners and occupants of premises within the city, immediately upon the sounding of an alarm of fire, to turn off any water then being used on the premises for any purpose not permitted in Section 9.08.010, and any person shall have the right to enter any premises, where water is being used in violation of this chapter, at such time, for the purpose of turning same off. (Ord. 43 § 2, 1922).
9.08.030 Penalty for violations.
Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction thereof shall be punished by fine not to exceed twenty-five dollars, or by imprisonment not to exceed ten days or by both such fine and imprisonment. (Ord. 43 § 4, 1922).
