There is created an electrical commission consisting of six members appointed by the president with the advice and consent of the board of trustees. The chief electrical inspector shall be a member and ex officio chairman of such commission. Of the other five members, one shall be a registered professional engineer, one shall be an electrical contractor, one a journeyman electrician, one a representative of an inspection bureau maintained by the Fire Underwriters (or, if no such representative resides in the village, then the chief of the fire department), and one a representative of an electrical supply house. Such members shall be appointed for one year and shall serve until their successors have been appointed and qualified.
2.56.020 Duties.
The electrical commission shall recommend safe and practical standards and specifications for the installation, alteration and use of electrical equipment in the village designed to meet the necessities and conditions in the village, shall recommend reasonable rules and regulations governing the issuance of permits, and fees to be paid; however, such standards and specifications, rules and regulations, and fees shall not be effective until adopted by ordinance.
