2.16.010 Authority—Provisions.
A. The board of county commissioners on March 12, 1985, by Resolution No. 3-12-85F, formed and created the Humboldt County Hospital District with exterior boundaries as described in said resolution.
B. Said resolution provides that the board of commissioners shall provide by ordinance for the following matters properly pertaining to the formation and creation of the district: the number of governing trustees, their term of office and the times and manner of their election.
C. A certified copy of said resolution is on file with the office of the county recorder. (Ord. 4-22-85A § 1)
2.16.020 Number of trustees.
The number of trustees who shall govern the hospital is six. (Ord. 4-22-85A § 2)
2.16.030 Appointment—Terms.
A. Two of the trustees shall initially be appointed by the board of commissioners to complete the unexpired terms of those two persons serving on the Humboldt General Hospital board of trustees on the effective date of the ordinance codified in this chapter, which terms expire as of December 31, 1986.
B. Three of the trustees shall initially be appointed by the board to complete the unexpired terms of those three persons serving on the Humboldt General Hospital board of trustees on the effective date of the ordinance codified in this chapter, which terms expire as of December 31, 1988.
C. The sixth of the trustees shall be appointed from the elected body of the board of commissioners as a voting member who shall serve a term coextensive with his or her term as a member of the board of commissioners.
D. Subsequent to the aforesaid respective expiration dates, the term of office of each trustee is for a period of four years. (Ord. 4-22-85A § 3)
2.16.040 Elections.
The times and manner of the election of the trustees, following the initial appointments referenced in HCC 2.16.030, shall be in accordance with the provisions of NRS 450.070, 450.080, 450.090(3) and 450.110. Additionally, and without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the election of the trustees shall be nonpartisan and the candidates therefor shall run at large on a county-wide basis.
