10.28.010 Spikes, cleats or lugs.
It is unlawful for any person to drive, propel, draw, move, convey or transport, or cause to be driven, propelled, drawn, moved, conveyed or transported, over, upon, along or across any street within the corporate limits of the city any vehicle or object which, with or without its load, is of such weight, or which has any wheel or tire so made, constructed, formed or shaped, or so equipped with spikes, cleats, lugs or other attachments or projections, as to destroy or permanently injure such street, road or highway or the surface, foundation or any part thereof, and it is unlawful for any person to drive or ride any sharp-shod horse or horses on the streets. 10.28.020 Weight limit.
It is unlawful for any person to drive, propel, move, convey or transport, or cause to be driven, propelled, drawn, moved, conveyed or transported, over, upon, along or across any public street, within the corporate limits of the city, any automobile, auto truck or motor-propelled vehicle which, with or without its load, weighs more than 24,000 pounds, except trucks with trailers or tag-a-long axles. 10.28.030 Weight limit on Oak Street Bridge.
It is unlawful for any person to drive, propel, move, convey, or otherwise transport a vehicle of any kind, including vehicles with trailers or tag-along axles, across the Oak Street Bridge if the gross weight of any such vehicle, together with trailer or tag-along axle, whether loaded or unloaded, exceeds 50,000 pounds (25 tons). 10.28.040 Violation – Penalty.
Any person violating any provision of this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and subject to a fine not to exceed $500.00. (Ord. 785 § 2, 1994)
