POLICE DEPARTMENT CRIME PREVENTION FUND

3.90.030 Obligation to pay fine.
3.90.010 Created.
There is created within the police department budget a separate fund to be known as the police department crime prevention fund. Funds deposited to this fund shall be used for the education of the public, including but not limited to school children, their parents and local merchants in approved methods of crime prevention. (Ord. 1172 § 1, 1987).
3.90.020 Expenditures.
Any expenditure from this fund shall be discretionary with the chief of police without prior approval or restraint but with full accountability to the city treasurer. (Ord. 1172 § 1, 1987).
3.90.030 Obligation to pay fine.
The fact that the penalty described in GMC 3.90.040 is imposed on each case shall not in any way reduce the obligation of the accused to pay the fine prescribed by the court. (Ord. 1172 § 1, 1987).
3.90.040 Violation – Penalty.
In any case where an accused has been convicted of any of the below listed offenses as they are defined in the Grandview Municipal Code, there shall be in addition to any fine levied, a penalty in the amount of $50.00, no part of which shall be suspended, which shall be paid to the police department’s crime prevention fund:
A. Theft – Unlawful taking or disposing – GMC 9.24.010;
B. Theft – Property lost, mislaid or delivered by mistake – GMC 9.24.020;
C. Receiving stolen property – GMC 9.24.030;
D. Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle – GMC 9.24.0401;
E. Unlawful issuance of bank checks or drafts – GMC 9.24.040;
F. Theft of services – GMC 9.24.060;
G. False weights and measures – GMC 9.24.070;
H. Criminal mischief – GMC 9.24.080;
I. Unlawful interference with gas, electric, steam or water appliance, or telephone – GMC 9.24.090;
J. Injuring property – GMC 9.24.100;
K. Shoplifting – GMC 9.24.1202;
L. Criminal impersonation – GMC 9.24.120;
M. Criminal trespass – GMC 9.24.130;
N. Making or having burglary tools – GMC 9.24.140. (Ord. 1172 § 1, 1987).
